I love to create and I enjoy talking about what inspires me and describing how I solved the problems involved in actually creating a piece.
I believe a well-designed piece of furniture should not just occupy a space: the piece should define the space and be of the finest materials constructed with meticulous, uncompromising craftsmanship. I try to accentuate the union of unusual embellishments with classic aesthetic forms.
I draw my design inspiration from a multitude of media, eras, and styles. Anything around me can be my muse: a shadow, a sunbeam, or even the lines of a 1968 Ford Fairlane. Being open to any inspiration - - natural or man made - - allows for creativity. Taking an idea from inspiration all the way to a finished piece is a labor of love, spanning a full range of emotions. I like my work to result in bold, elegant, timeless designs that will be cherished for generations.
I use quality exotic and domestic hardwoods and veneers. I am sensitive to environmental issues, and use "green" products whenever possible. All adhesives, stains, and finishes are formaldehyde and methylene chloride free. I don't use any metal fasteners in the construction of my pieces.
I live with my wife and our two dogs at our studio in North Georgia.
